Aksarben- The Knights of Aksarben website w/ info on Events planned by Aksarben knights : River City Roundup, Aksarben Coronation Ball & 4-H Livestock Expositions, Aksarben Rodeo, as well as other programs & membership. History of The Knights of Aksarben dating back dating back to their inception in 1895. Casinos- Located just across the river in Council Bluffs Iowa there are 3 casinos Ameristar, Harrah's & Horseshoe. They all offer a variety of restaurants & entertainment venues Durham Museum at Union Station has "permanent exhibits highlighting the history of Omaha and its surrounding regions," as well as "impressive traveling exhibitions from our national partners such as the Smithsonian Institution, the National Archives, the Library of Congress and the Field Museum, there is truly something for everyone." Cocoa Key Water Resort/Holiday Inn- It does get cold in Omaha, Cocoa Key Indoor Water Resort is a nice place to pretend it's warmer outside! Located at the Holiday Inn off of 72nd St. in Omaha. Fontenelle Forest -A great way to get back to nature! There is a 1 mile boardwalk with no stairs, miles of other trails, nature play area, interactive displays in lower level of the center. Summer Day Camps, special exhibits placed throughout the forest (previously art, conservation, dinosaur exhibits) The College World Series- An Omaha tradition since 1950 College baseball's finest converge on Omaha every year in June for the NCAA College World Series. Boys Town- Founded in Omaha Boys Town is a beacon of hope for America’s children and families through its life-changing youth and health care programs across the US The Henry Doorly Zoo -Omaha's Top Attraction, nationally known & a must see. Rain Forest, Desert Dome, Skyfari, Butterfly Pavillion, Aquarium, Train, Gorilla House, Petting Zoo & much more! The Joslyn Art Museum -An eclectic collection of works beginning with Greek pottery and moving through Europe and into American Western art and finishing in the 20th century. Make sure you plan a visit in the Summer months for one of the free Jazz on the Green concerts! Mahoney State Park- Horse Back riding, swimming, waterpark, rock climbing wall, hiking, camping, even a melodrama theater. Great for all ages! Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Enjoy walks through the gardens & special events throughout the year, wine tastings, poinsettia show and more! Omaha Children's Museum- Recently overhauled, changing exhibits on the 2nd floor, Permanent exhibits including the Ball Machine Room, presentations. A fun time for kids! Omaha Community Play House- Link to latest shows & ticketing. A great facility, fantastic affordable shows. Yearly production of A Christmas Carol. Go Carts, SpaceBall, mini-golf, water wars, lazer tag, arcade games Hosts many world class artists, & events a large venue. SAC Museum- See actual planes, displays of aviation artifacts, climb into some cockpits, find great aviation/aerospace toys at the gift shop and don't miss the flight simulator (unless you've got a weak stomach) Wildlife Safari in Ashland- A nice change of pace, a nice drive, a different way to see animals, a division of the Henry Doorly Zoo Omaha Royals Baseball- Times are changing The Royals are moving to Sarpy County! Visit their website for the latest updates on the new ballpark, for the latest schedule & ticketing Vala's Pumpkin Patch A Fall favorite for all ages...but the Lytle boys especially love it! Pig racing, pumpking picking, pumpkin eating dragon, glow in the dark golf, hay rack rides, treats, dancing skeletons. It's a hoot! The Old Market- Historic warehouse district with cobblestone streets, flowers above storefronts, coffee shops,restaurants, bars, art galleries, carriage rides. Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge- The cities of Omaha and Council Bluffs opened Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge on September 28, 2008.
